Webcam Modeling Equipment Requirements.

Below you will find the minimum hardware requirements to work as a cam girl and broadcast both video and audio on our network. Unless you do not already own a webcam, you probably meet or exceed all of the requirements and do not need additional equipment. If you have questions or are in need of technical support regarding your hardware please contact us and we will be happy to help you.

Windows Based Computer
You need a computer with Windows 2000, XP or Vista, at least a 400Mhz processor and 256Mb of memory. Your hard drive should have at least 1 Gig of free space. Chances are you have all of this if your computer is 5 years old or newer.

Camera
You can use a standard USB web camera or a high-end camcorder that connects through a capture card like the Osprey Card. Most webcam professionals tend to recommend affordable Logitech webcams that can be easily purchased just about anywhere. An excellent, medium-priced webcam is the Logitech QuickCam 9000.

Broadband Internet Connection
You need a fast and reliable internet connection (DSL, cable modem, etc.) with at least 300Kbit uplink of bandwidth. Chances are if you already have a broadband connection you meet or exceed all the uplink requirements.

Microphone
You need a microphone so you can talk to your customers. Talking with your customers is highly-encouraged because it will make you more money! (See the tutorial, "Using audio to your advantage.") Our system transmits both high-quality video and audio. A quality, stand-alone microphone will produce the best results. However, some of the better webcams have built-in microphones and these can certainly be used as well. The Logitech QuickCam 9000, mentioned above, is one such camera.
